Assignment Title: Magazine Article - Genetically Modified FoodsSkill Area: Nutrition Education
What I learned: This assignment gave me some insight on writing articles for a magazine. I don't want to write about too many topics at once. I want the reader to be engaged in the article but to also stay engaged by keeping paragraphs to a few lines. Understanding who my audience is knowing what they want to read is key in a great article.
Reflection to assignment: At first it was difficult to consider a topic. After I began writing all sorts of topics were popping in my head. It's interesting to go through the writing process and see where the research and personal opinion takes you.
Relevance to the profession: Learning how to write for an audience is much different than writing a nutrition assessment. These skills are relevant in nutrition and food science for advertisement, opinion, and research.
